What about the bat?
We met at uni, made a lot of games together and didn’t want to stop. Here’s how Bad Bat Studio came to be.
How it started
We met on a games degree at university and knew from the start that we wanted to make games together.
Over the next few years that turned into a string of uni projects and game jams. Some we’re proud of, some are rough around the edges, and every one of them taught us something. You can find them all on the Games page.
We finished our degrees in May 2026, graduated in June and started working out what came next. Furry Game Jam #2 was already on the horizon, so it went straight in the calendar, and that’s where Protogen Repair Clinic came from. Not long after, having talked about it for ages, we made the studio official.
Right now our focus is getting Protogen Repair Clinic to a full 1.0 release. After that, we’ll keep making whatever we’re passionate about. We have a couple of bigger ideas we’d love to make one day, but we’d rather take our time and do them justice than rush one out as our first project.
Our values
Fun first
Fun comes before everything else. We prototype fast, keep what’s fun and let the game tell us what it wants to be.
Open cave
We share our games early, while they’re still changing. Players get to try them at their most flexible point, and their feedback helps shape what they become.
Passion projects
There’s no house genre. We make whatever we’re excited about, as long as we can’t stop thinking about it.
Locked in
Give us a goal and a timeframe and we’ll get stuck in. The hard part is usually getting us to put the project down.
What we've done
The milestones, releases and wins that got us here — as a studio and before it.

Bad Bat Studio founded
After talking about it for a long time (when we had the name 'Fat Bat Studio'. Dodged a bullet there!) we decided to send it and set up as Bad Bat Studio.

Furry Game Jam #2
FGJ#2 was the perfect opportunity to make something together for a slightly longer period of time than most other jams. And thus Protogen Repair Clinic was created.
